Hello Reefcentral,

I started a saltwater aquarium 3 months ago.
First, I want to give some information about my tank and water parameters.
Tank: 3 months old, 110 gallon, live rock and sand, sump with nothing(no sandbed, no refigum or etc)
Equipments: Nac66 PS, 2x resunwavemaker 2000, haqos 2000L/h water pump.
Lightning: DIY 6x 54w T5 with timer.
Livestock: 4 s clownfish, 2 m blue tang,

Water Parameters. (test kits tropic marin)
SG- 1.024
Temp- 79
PH- 8,2
Alk- 7
Nitrit- 0
Nitrat- 15
Ammonia- <0,01
Don't have any other tests.

At first two weeks, I had lots of cyanobacteria all over my rocks.
While I had now livestock I left tank 3 days dark (no light at all), and cyano gone.
when my tank a month old, I got 4 clownfish. And at second month 2 blue tangs.
3 days ago, I decided to buy frags from my localshop.
I bought 4 small frags, a small mixed zoanthinds, a green hairy mushroom, one head torch coral, and a small sized goniopora.
Since I got them home and acclimated for few hours then put in my tank.
Placed them well what they needed (lightning and flow).
All well opened in localshop but, since I put in my tank, I haven't seen them a bit opened yet.
I know my circulation equipment are not fine. I'm going to order newjet 2300 pump and Tunze 6045.
Goniopora and mushrooms discharged a little mucus or something.
I haven't add any additives. I'm changing %10 water every two weeks since beginning.
Should I wait longer for they opened up or can I do anything?

nothing you can do but wait. your system is extremely newish....12 weeks is still cycling IMO. this hobby is about patience patience patience. id suggest you hold off on any new purchases and continue to monitor your tank.

Since you have corals, I would really recommend Calcium, Magnesium and Phosphate test kits. The Calcium and Phosphate are especially important for coral health and growth. I use the Red Sea Pro tests for Calcium and Magnesium and a Hanna Checker for Phosphate.

In my limited experience, I would say there is something not right with your tank. My corals typically begin to open within a few hours of acclimation and are normally fully open and inflated by the next day.

Thank you. I will order tropic marin ca mg and phosphate tests right now. I hope one of them is the problem.

You need more water flow. You're at about 13x turnover. Those resun wavemakers only push 1500 lph and are rated for 80-100L tanks.

The return pump you list is rated at 2000 lph, but any plumbing and height is going to reduce this significantly. In reality, you're probably under 10x turnover.

This lack of turnover alone can cause the issues you are seeing. I see you ordered more circulation equipment, that'll help.

Just curious; why are you using/purchasing water movement devices for nano tanks when you have a large reef?

You are also right about circulation, I used them because I didnt bought water movement equipments, one of my friend gave it to me for cycling process. I know need to change them too.
So I have 2 possible problems, circulation or ca/mg/pho.

Even the tunze 6045 is for nano tanks.

I'd shoot for a MINIMUM of 10,000 liters/hour (2750 gallons per hour) of circulation in your tank. I recommend 25-30x turnover for mixed reefs, 50x+ for SPS reefs.

FWIW, not having enough water movement is like taking a dump and sitting in it for an extended period of time.
