well after making my last surface skimmer it was not only messy, but it wasnt as gd as i hoped. haha. there were a few problems as follows :
-water was not falling far enougn into the skimmer to stop it flowwing back out.
- the return pump was facing the same way as the inlet so water was being pushed away from the skimmer.
-there was no way to get the foam media out without taking the hole unit out of the tank.
so ive made the unit deeper. and made the return pump exit on the side not the front. and there is a small tray ive knocked up that u can just pull up nd down with the media on it. and theres now 3 layers of media not 1.

and neatern it all up . the silicons kinda all over the shop at the mo HEHE
