2.5K!!!!!!!!!! That is absolutely crazy. Was it a Japanese or Hawaiian specimen? Japanese specimens are worth more money because they have brighter colors and cost more to ship here to the states. In reality they are the same eel and some Hawaiian dragons can be far more beautiful than their Japanese counterparts. 9 times out of 10 the japanese will have better color. Is that from House of Fins? I know they have amazing stuff but that is way too much!!!! But if someone is willing to pay that amount then why not ask for that price. I went to a LFS, mind you the closest one to me is an hour away, they had 3 Hawaiian Dragons and they were 1500.00. They have notoriously high prices but they are the only store to get healthy rare stock on Long Island. 2.5K is a bit extreme. Hopefully you can get it tax free if you pay tax.
Mercz. That is odd that the dragons were found at that depth. They are usually found at much shallower levels. They generally aren't found in pairs, so maybe they were at a deeper depth because they were mating? How big were these eels? I think 2500.00 is a bit much for a pair but certainly acceptable. Especially when someone is selling a really small dragon for 2500.00 I know a really small dragon is really desirable but they are much more fragile. Do you know where in Hawaii the pair was caught?
Hopefully my Japanese dragon will be great looking and more importantly healthy. Regards, Tim
