My new brain needs your help

My guess is that it got damaged, probably in the bag on the ride home. I would use an iodine based dip you can pick up from your lfs. Then I would dose the tank with iodine. There are many iodine supplements you can choose from at your lfs. You will most likely have some more die off. The thing to watch for is infection. As long as you can keep it from getting infected the healthy part will servive. I don't believe that dips help much after a coral gets an infection like brown jelly. If that day comes you will need to frag the coral. Not easy with this animal. Good luck and keep us posted.

thanks for the info, Some of the healthy polyps were fed tonight, they had their feeding tentacles out which are HUGE, so i decided it might be best to feed it.

Well I put the coral in a lower portion of the tank with a less flow and it seems to be making a little comeback, I dont know if the food had anything to do with it either. If the feeding tentacles are out again today should I feed it again?

I would give him another day or so to digest the food he has. Then try feeding him again if his tentacles are out. I'm glad to hear that he is looking a little better. Good luck.
