got him yesterday. He is a green BTA. i have a 40 gal hex mainly zoa tank with 400watt metal halides. Its closed loop with a hang on back skimmer rated for a 75 gal tank. the MCE 300 i believe. I aclimated him slow. He is inflated and eat today when i fed him. [formula one] but has found a spot towards the back of my rockwork about half way down my tank. He seems happy, but i want him to come out some more to get more light and be more visible. What is a good way to urge him to come out if there is one without rearranging rock.

any advice would help.

my water levels are all good. but since i dont have a chiller my temp raises and drops about 4 degrees during a 24 hour cycle? is this to bad? im going to get a halide cooling fan.

4 degrees isnt going to kill anything but it is a big swing everyday. the BTA should be fine.

how long has the ank been set up?

how do you like your skimmer i have the same one .

I know its frustrating and you want to see the anemone but I think you should leave it alone. Right now it needs to acclimate and get use to your aquarium and lights. I tried moving my anemone after it tucked itself under a rock. I flipped the rock over so it could get light. Then by the end of the day it shrunk up. It looked like it was dying. I thought " oh no I killed it by turning the rock over." It was just getting rid of waste..they look so pathetic when they get rid of waste. The next day it was all inflated again and looking happy. Then at night it went under that rock again. That time I left it alone. Few weeks later it came out on its own.

my tanks been up for maybe 6-8 months now i think.

the skimmer seems to be doing well. I havent really fine tuned it yet and have only been pulling brownish water, no thick stuff yet. how open do you keep your air intake? mine is about 50/50 right now to try to reduce the amount of bubbles back into the tank. i dont use the bubble catch cause its big and dumb looking. Do you use it?

Im gunna leave the nem alone, let it figure it out. it looks happy.
