My new clowns

I was at an LFS last weekend, was just suppose to be picking up some food....

A while back I sold my 10+ year old mated Clarkii pair, I had gotten tired of their digging, which was ticking off my Haddoni. So I have been thinking about getting another pair of clowns. Really didn't have anything in mind, I already have a pair of SI Percs and a mated pair of pink skunks -- different tanks, so I knew those choices were out.

So I was walking around the store and saw a pair of black saddle backs (( A. polymnus )) and I was sold.

It took them about 5 minutes to be hosted by my Haddoni, and they were eating like pigs within an hour. And like saddlebacks, they dive into the Haddonis mouth when scared -- still need to get a pic of that.

Anyways,

Big mama and the little guys face,

A bit of an under bite on the little guy

And while not a clown, a multicolored angel that I picked up for another tank,

Congrats Todd, they look great! I have yet to find a polymnus that can resist a haddoni! I had a pair that were hosted by a Crispa a few years back, they are fun clowns for sure and I'm sure your anemone will be much happier now.

On another note I am surprised you sold the Clarkii pair, I remember you saying you wanted to but were too attached because of how long they have been with you.

Very nice pair you got there, makes me regret selling mine. Maybe I'll have to pick up a pair the next time i see one.

WOW!Quite a dif in size from the male to the female! If ya look the male dont got his 3rd stripe yet!VERY nice pair!

it is not uncommon for some black saddleback to be completely missing their 3rd stripe as an adult. I've had some large 5" + ones that never develop that 3rd stripe

Agreed, my female was missing the 3rd stripe, she was a good 3"

I have a red bubbletip anemone...think she will host in it? She hasn't found it yet, but it's only been a few hours.
