My New Deresa

Hi, all. I've had a deresa for over a year and wanted another. I have a mottled clam and wanted the striated. Here's the new clam (approx. 3 inches):

And here are the two together:

i feel dumb for not even looking at your tank specs below your name hah, do you happen to have a fts? I love 6ft tanks. what kind of stocking do you have in it besides the clam?

LOL! No problem!!! Not a lot stocked. 1 Bule/Green chromis, 1 Scopas tang, 1 maroon clown, 1 flame hawk, 1 Hoeven's wrasse and 2 bangaii cardinals. Plus corals and inverts. The tanks in a good place. It's only 14 months old but everything was transferred from a 7 year old 75g tank (except for the sand). The T5s have all already been replaced once on a nine month schedule.

What do you do for feeding the cardinals? I had one and no matter what I put in the tank, he'd never eat(assuming it was a he).

It's my understanding that wild bangaii can be problematic. The tank raised eat anything. My two eat anything but veggie flakes (I put those in for the tang). If they happen to grab a piece, it gets spit right back out. They've spawned a lot of times and I actually have one of their babies in a biocube. It's the only one that wasn't eaten by everyone else because he got sucked into the sump right after being released from daddy's mouth. He lived in the refugium for the first two-three months. :-)

I guess I just need to be more picky about where I get it from. Everything I put in it's spit out. I'm hoping that I can get one to survive. They add some character to the tank

Very nice indeed! The bigger Derasa grew that big in about a year? I read on Fosters and Smith that they can get up to 24". Do they get that big in captivity?
Thanks,
Jim
