Sorry these are really bad pics, I didn't have much time too take them and had a bad angle/light.

I had seen one of the largest Astra Stars I had ever seen and he was sitting in the same spot in my sump yesterday for a good 6 hrs. Late last night (I had just looked at him 5 min prior to this and he was still whole) he just started the split and less than 1 min later it was done.

I always heard they dropped a leg, but no they pretty much split right in half, keeping some mouth on each piece.

I warned you these are bad.

Sorry If they gave anybody a headache cause they are so drunken blurry! :)

Just a neat experience...again.

3 in a row, somebody better stop me or I win.

Bri,
It was nice to see your setup in person.
Good looking tank for being relatively new.
I also like how you have the PVC overflow setup on the tank.
Those Ricordia should get back to normal size in a few days.
Keep up the good work!

Those engineers will be digging like crazy in that sand, they will also get a new apperance as they get larger, they will get a leopard print instead of the stripes

From what I read they are a schooling fish as babys, then pair off as they age. They are definatly digging already, only took them a couple of days to start that. Found a good side by side of infant to adult pic.

The only fish I picked up from kirra 80 was the clown goby. She only had one other fish and some snails. He is doing good but he decided to host my magfloat up in the corner. :)

Cool one of the asterinas. I know I see like one leg crawling around on my glass so they must split alot. I don't really have many though in my 150.

I saw an odd thing the other day. An asterina was on the feeder thing and fell off. Each fish was taking a turn trying to eat it. I did'nt think any would but got up to go see and before I got there my tomato clown ate it. I thought it would spit it out but it did'nt that I saw. I never saw them eat one before but maybe that's why I don't have many lol.

Does that clown goby eat flake food? I got one from LA before xmas for my nano and it seems kinda thin.
Ive been feeding it Rods food mixed with flakes and brine shrimp. It goes after the food but spits back out most of it except for the brine.
I think they're so cute. Mine like sucks it's body on the glass so it looks like it's stopped in mid air all the time.
Dunno if you know it but they do sometimes pick on SPS.

Where did you get a baby peppermint?

kass

I haven't fed my tank flakes since I got the goby, so don't know about that.

And Ive had about 5000 baby peps in the last month or so, seems like once a week there is a feeding.....um I mean babys are born.
