my new lil tank....

well just set this tank up in my room(HOT), so here are some pics from my phone...

its custom made by a lfs, dimension of the tank are 22lx17wx13h (show tank is 17x17 cube) used 5 inches in the back for refugium.
150w solana mh
maxi 1200 as return
hot1 skimmer will run about 3 days a wk
will add :
fans ((live in houston so outside temp is above 95 degree every day in the summer lol)
k2 for more flow
picking up some cheato or some mangrove ,lr and ls from a local hobbyist tomorrow or so.
thats all i can think right now, oh yea this will be zoas, palys and maybe some sps tank

why run a skimmer part time?

Scare it might be 2much if I run it fulltime...bc ill do 10%water change everywk+3days of using skimmer would be good enough. Should I run it fulltime?

if you do sps you need to run it full time

if you are doing like softies and lps the 3 days will be enough if it can make a foamhead quickly

yea thats what i thought too, prolly about 3 small colonies of sps and the rest will be zoas

is that a maroon & a perc i see in the tank? it'd be interesting if you keep us updated on their condition...would like to see how long they last together in the same tank together...my bet is that the maroon will win the fights...

I have a tank very simmilar to this and i loved it. I had to take my tanks down because I go to school, but mine was 24x24x12 and had a similar sized area with false back. you will love this tank.

the one that fully stocked of corals was my tank 3 yrs ago, had to sell it when i moved, just started this hobby again (4months ago) got a 72gal bow front and now this acrylic nano.

Nice tank but do you really want to put eggcrate on top of it? I think that would not allow for such a smooth clean look that this tank was designed to have.

thank you guys, those are the fish i really want to keep, i think for such a shallow tank (13inches -3inches sand bed so only 10inches) any fish i put in there would jump anyway , lol. so egg crate is the only option that i can think of now. just got some zoas + some from my 72gal will post pics soon.....
