After setting up my 12 gallon Eclipse tank for about 5 weeks, I finally gt a peacock mantis shrimp. I think it is a 'he'. He is about 3.5 inches. I had him for about 3 weeks now. I love how he has already re-arranged every little rock in the tank.

here a couple of pics

Thats a really nice mantis, and i like the way you have set up the rocks in that tank. i am going to be turning my ten gallon nano into a mantis tank (thats what i originally bought an acrylic for). i just got a new reef tank and im hoping when i set up the LR i will find one, and stick it in my ten. do you think (or have you heard if) the mantis will crack that eclipse? i would think it would because they are pretty thin. oh well. looks damn good.

From what I have asked and read so far, the 12 gallon Eclipse is a plastic tank, which will be really resistant to the "knocks" by mantis. My mantis did a few 'knocks' when my girlfriend tried to tease him, the tank walls looks fine. If the 10 gallon Eclipse tank is glass, I would not know how well it will hold up. But I have seen people on this board who used regular 10 gallon glass tank with no problem.

That is one magnificent creature...best of Luck keep the pics coming..

I will do that, I hope I would get too lazy. I will try to make some videos soon...

oh yeah, by the way, I got my mantis from Fish Ranch in Houston Texas, they are located at Hwy59 and Bellaire. They still have two more peacock in stock(both about 4 inches), I think they are going for $40 a piece. Kinda expensive, but I am have so much fun with my mantis, definitely worth it.

oops sorry bout that, didnt mean to post the same thing twice, what i was gonna say is that i work at a LFS, and my manager was telling me some guy had an eclipse mantis tank and the mantis busted the tank, but that was to discourage me from getting an eclipse, but i wouldnt want to take the chance. anyways the color on your mantis is beautifull.
