My new skimmer

I just got my new toy in today.

This thing is a monster. Here is a pic for a size comparision.
The 3000 on the left.
The MR-1 on the right.
and just for kicks a seaclone fits in the neck of the beast.

Here it is shortily after hook up. In all its milky glory.

I changed some of the plumbing in the system and a couple hours in it hasn't started foaming but I wasn't expecting it yet.

What do you guys think?

That's pretty flippin' sweet Covey! What kind of pump did this come with? How about the acrylic? Extruded or cast?

The acrylic looks to be cast. Smooth and clear.

The pump is made by Hailea(sp). They make the Oceanrunner line for Aquamedics. It is a unlabled OR needlewheel. 65W, quiet. I am liking it.

Too cool! I so wish I could upgrade from my skimmer. With so many bubbles it looks like milk, it will be dumpping skimmer crap on your carpet in no time, lol.

Sweet, I'll have to stop by and check it out. My wife gave me
the greenlight to to get a big tank. So I'll be in the market for
an efficient skimmer.

I'll probably go with a 120 or 150, depends on where I decide to put it.

Well break in took a day and a half but I thought I would post some pics now that it is foaming. This thing makes some real nice shaving cream.

I tired to take a pic for bubble size but the camera doesn't seem up to it. Very consistant bubbles.
