Can you beleive it all came from the rock?!

That algae is all over the reefs in Kauai. Arlan and I just got back and every day would walk along the tide pools stepping on them, they are very soft.

As you can see its comin along nicely. Also, theres not much for aquascaping. This was done on purpose inspired by some minimalistic approaches Ive seen lately in the past. Once the finger leathers get over a foot big and the xenia cover the backside of the tank Ill consider the aquascaping finished.

Btw David, if your reading this the yuma gave me a dime size baby! Wooty woot woots!! :D

Those zoas in the middle of the 1st pic look awesome! Also the bubble looks like it's getting bigger.

Duh du deh daaah !!
Flame.jpg

Ya, Ive been really pushing the envelope this month :D I am now the proud caretaker of this beautifull flame angel. He acclimated very well with the lights off the first day and quickly began patrolling the rockwork picking and pecking. After a week? I now am sucessfully feeding him with PE mysis and Formla1 pellets w/ garlic. He's already got a spot picked out and everything seems great so far.

hey justin,
how is the flame gettin along w/ the six line. Im really looking into getting one for my tank and already have a sixline. your's looks awesome btw.

I think the fact that the six line was there first may have made a big difference, but anyway, there getting along very well. The most aggressive acting fish is the pink skunk, but all are getting along extremely peacefully with no signs of territorial tiffs :)

4 mos. without an update :/
Heres a sneak peak of some progress, Id like to get more in after this weekend when I can scrape alot of the rest of the coraline that was left behind from 2 weeks ago when I really bore down on it, was so thick left my tank in a cloud of pink for about 3-4 hours! So I plan to try and get the rest later. As far as the corals go, excellent! There all so healthy. In fact I was losing my purple tip frogspawn almost within a months time I think from a lack of flow as it was nestled in between some rocks that were getting overgrown, so outta the 7-8 colony Im down to 2. Which isnt bad at all considering I was down to 1 and half when I took it out of the 55 and into this 30. Now there getting nice and fluffy :D

I really was torn about which and if any LPS I was going to put in here, but I decided to just keep my ecrusters(acans, leptastrea) in the 55g with the stix and keep all the moving ones in here. All my calaustrea, frogspawn, even the echinophyllia which I am still kinda debating, but so far there in a nice spot. Couldnt get a shot due to the coraline, but like I said I'll shoot for after this weekend.Cheers,

-Justin

Hmmm.....give me a second to look at the pics.......
