I can't seem to get a good picture of the colors but it is yellow with purple stripes and purple tips. Goes nice with my other ones. I'm still looking for a true blue one but this one is crazy cool. Thanks to Todd at Cherry Corals!! Always looking out for his customers!

Very nice nem. I have recently joined the club with a purple one myself. They are definitely beautiful (and addicting). I plan to picking up an orange one in the future. I have also joined in the search for a blue one like your avatar, but have had no luck finding one, although I am told they fetch a pretty penny and might be a dollar too far for me, but we'll see.

The one in my avatar is a purple one. This is a blue one. Yes they fetch a pretty penny but what doesn't in this hobby.

I really want to get an orange one, I see a couple of DD and just can't justify paying that much for shipping and everything, sucks though.

Nice little garden you have going there...keep it going ;) Would love to pick one up but tank is too small for it and I have almost removed all my substrate. Two more weeks and the last 10 percent of it will be out.

Really, how come Mike? Going BB or just changing so many diapers it seems natural now? :lmao:

Seriously, what's up. They don't need a big tank but a sandy bottom is a must. They for sure have become my favorite AZoox. Oh and if you run across a blue one that looks like the video I posted can you let me know? You seems to be able to find the tough stuff. How's everything going? Thanks for the compliment and I hope all is well with you and your family.

Yea it can get expensive. Try asking your LFS to find you one. They usually sell for around $40.00 if they get them with a big shipment. DD has some nice ones. Actually the one on the far right was suppose to be reddish with an orange middle but they shipped me the wrong one. They made it all good, but I did not see the color until he was firmly implanted and I don't want to disturb him or the rocks structure to get him out.

Hey Don,
No problem, all is well, sleep went from good to a little hell once the teeth starting cutting through, but it will pass :)

Why bare? Not to derail your thread of what is better ;) Having kept azoox corals and filter feeders in both methods, it is more of a personal husbandry preference to remove the substrate. Yes, I do know that I removed a vaste amount of surface area for bacteria to grow on but but at the same time, how much suface area in the actual display is needed?

Note: tank is running over a liter of pellets (Warner & SeaSlug) plus being dosed 4ml of Methanol, then about a half liter of Fauna Marin Ultralith that is passively kept in the sump and shaken once a day.

The substrate had become a very efficient bristle worm & detritus farm. Vacuuming (2x a week) & stirring sections of substrate (daily) it was very difficult to keep the population under control with the heavy feeding. Since I am not in the worm farm business (sorry Leslie) I wanted to make sure the food is going to where it was initially intended for, the corals/fish. So I started to remove the substrate slowly, each time a water change was done, a small section of substrate was removed, tank was observed/tested in between. During the process there was a increase in phosphate & nitrate, which was expected, and is back to almost at the level when the substrate was in the tank.

Now I could set up a specific pvc tube/manifold for one but I am going to pass for now until I have the spave to do it properly. I will keep an eye out for you if any solid blue ones become available and pick it up. Plenty of pink/orange, tan, purple, and I believe the other color was maroon but listed as black. Regardless I will keep my eye out.

Mike
