i have 4 different grain sizes of sand and some old coral skelatons and rubble. this way i can have a ton of water flow with out all the sand blowing around.

Very nice setup! I love your substrate Idea! 75 gallon tank is a great size for aquascaping. Nice looking corals too!

It could be either the slimer or the a. formosa (sp?) which return are you talking about?

Are you worried about the substrate trapping debris and causing nitrate and debris buildup problems like crushed coral substrate does? Or do you plan on weekly vacuming of the sand bed?

Very nice.
I'm, in the process of setting up a 120 gal.
I'm combining 3 tanks into 1! A 58gal, 29 and 20 high.
Can't wait until it's over.

DrBDC- not worried at all between all the sand sifting critters and the amount of water flow i should be all set. the top layer of the sand bed is not as thick as it looks. its all still brand new and has not been moved around much yet.
