My newly acquired Declives & Mitratus Butterflyfish

Yo love that tank and the fish choices.

Did I see a male Scribbled Angelfish in there?

You got a video with the scribbled on?

Awesome video! Id love to see a video of the setup from more of a distance to get an overall view as this video was very up close and hard to keep up with the bigger angels. Good stuff man!

cool look forward to seeing that.
I've got a 10" show size male too, that's why I asked about it.

Have you released your butterfly-fish in the tank yet?

I recently got a Tinkers BF..... great fish, very easy to deal with.

Now thinking about adding another BF......

yikes beautiful fish-- how big is that tank??/?
naaaaah never mind I really dont want to know--- lemme imagine is a 3-400 gallon

Rahul, not yet as I want to make sure they are well fed. I'm moving toward BFs as well but I will take my time to select some nice pairs....

Gasman, 96 x 30 x 40 about 500G with 100G sump + BubbleKing 300 Deluxe.

Lovely Scribbled Angelfish, thanks for posting.

I noticed you already have a few butterfly fish with your angelfishes.
I too am thinking about adding more Butterfly fish to my tank.
Do your Angelfish chase/bully/harass your butterfly-fish?

Hi Rahul,

I dont have much of the trouble keeping them together but you need to consider the following (based on my experience):

1. large tank especially in length/height (I know it sounds common but sometimes people do not following the common sense)
2. huge amount of rock works for the BFs as a hiding place
3. avoid keeping small/med size angels but only with Angels larger than 10" as they tended to ignore the BFs. Most of my angels are larger than 12"
4. the sequence of introducing BFs into the Angel tank, deep water BFs always the last especially Burgess. Personally I do not plan to have any Burgess in my tank.
5. Feeding sequence: I feed angels with "jumbo" pallets a minute before "mini" & "flakes" for BFs

All in all, my angels do bully the BFs sometimes but not often as the BFs are in their way but most of the time my BFs swim near the rock work in the bottom while the angels cruise around the upper part of the tank (40" height).

Good luck!
