My Oceanic 58g reef ready build thread!

I currently have a biocube 29 that is just getting too big. I can't stop going to Premium Aquatics and buying coral! So... I found this awesome deal on Craigslist and couldn't pass it up. It's an Oceanic 58g reef ready tank and stand and 20g reef ready sump. It had the glass fold up top and Coralife 36" 2 bulb pc fixture. I got it for $165. Just got the plumbing done and getting ready to leak test it.

The plumbing is all done. I'm leak testing it and letting it run overnight. I have a 1" intake and a 3/4" return. The return goes to a 3/4" locline y to two nozzles. I am running a QuietOne 625gph return pump.

I like how the sump is enclosed like that. Will definitely keep down he humidity and salt spray in the stand. As long as you don't have heat issues. What are you going with for a skimmer? That first baffle seems really low.

I won't be able to keep it covered like that because of the skimmer. Just picked up a Vertex skimmer today. Does anyone have any experience with this brand?

I have never heard anything bad about vertex skimmers. I have a Ro di filter from them that has been great.

Yeah, I have been doing some research and heard lots of good things. The new rock is in. I will probably add sand tomorrow and should have enough saltwater to use the whole system.

My led kit came in! I will have a full spectrum dimmable led array over this tank. I'm thinking of gutting the pc fixture I got with the tank and putting my heatsink in it for a nice look

Thanks, getting the last bucket of water made now so I can start the system. Got the heaters in too. I'm hoping to have time to clean the sand and get it in tomorrow.
