My own clams

Hey Toptank,
I know that bristleworms dont usually attack healthy clams, but have you ever noticed any trouble keeping the clams on your sand bed? How long have the clams been there? Ive had many clams throughout the years and have had a good success rate, but need some info because I plan on keeping some on the sandbed. Also, in regards to the dreaded disease we keep hearing about, I was wondering if it affects any captive bred clams from the marshall islands?

Maximus,

I get my clams from just one source and am happy to say that I haven't had any problem. 80& come from Marshall Island, Solomen and a few from Tonga. I have had some VietNam but didn't have much luck with them. Most of my clams are farmed raised up to the 3.4" range.

Flame*Angel, Purple isn't that hard to get. :)

Thanks Jim, did I show you the picture of the Tiger Squamosa I have. Decided I would keep it for now until it out grows this 180. :)

Barry,
Is the green clam on the left a T. maxima? Does it look the same color looking down from above?

Regards,
Kevin

Man Barry you would think being a seller you would have the nice clams not the ugly ones must be selling all the good ones and keeping the ones that no one wants.;)

LOL just kidding those are great looking clams.

I must agree as well. . . It's definitely one of the better ones i've seen. Must be nice having a nice selection to select the 'creme de la creme'. hehe :-).

Toptank me and maximus like to know!

Hi Steve,

No I have had no problem with bristleworms to this point but on the other hand if I have some I have never seen them even with lights out. This clam has been on the substrate for 1 months but have had some on there much longer.
