My Perc Clowns Spawned yesterday. I left some of the eggs alone in the tank but I siphoned some out to try and see if I can get the to hatch. Anyone with experience with this or any advice. I was going to leave them alone but I am sure by the end of today the other fish would eat them all so I am going to try and give it a shot and see what happens.

That is so awesome!!!!! Good luck with raising the clowns. I heard you have to culture live rotifers in order to raise them. I hope my oynx clowns eventually spawn.

Thats great news Ben ...you got any pics or did you miss it? sounds like a project right up your alley good luck and keep us posted ...Oh yeah i got a nice frag for ya !!!!! Ill have to see when I can get out your way....

You will need rotifers. I think they still have them at Salty Critter.
They will start laying eggs about every 2-3 weeks from now on! Good luck!!! I always encouraged mine to lay eggs on a rock that could be easily removed to another tank.

you need two strains of live rotifers and a live baby brine shrimp hatcher for when the rotifers are too small.

if you could get them to spawn on a tile that will increase your chances getting the eggs out in 1 peice if not you need to wait till they hatch and build a catcher

breeding clowns is not easy, but good luck with it, and keep us posted i would like to see your progress.

oh ya and do you have any pics of the clown pair?

Thanks to all so far for the advice. I was able to get the rock out of the tank with all the eggs. They are ready to hatch any day now. I am growing rotifers already so we will see what happens. I will try and take some pics in the next few days.

So far I had 6 babies hatch today. Only 1 DOA. They are pretty cool but super tiny. I hope the rest hatch today so we'll see. I had a few emails to stop out and see them. Feel free to shoot me a pm and stop on out. They are pretty neat to see.

4-5 days seems to be the trick if you can keep them fed rotifers then switch to bbs. I've tryed a few times with mine but I can't seem to get my rotifers ready when the babies need them. Good luck. The book by joice wilkerson is concidered to be the bible for clown fish breeding it is definatly worth getting.
