My Percs 1st eggs on Easter

After I fed my fish yesterday I noticed that my Clowns were attacking my leopard wrasse which they have never done before. I was shocked, I grabbed my phone and recorded a little bit of it. When the leopard wrasse gave up the clowns raced back over to there BTA's. I noticed them going nuts on a piece of rock between the BTA's. I could clearly see the small orange eggs in a cluster stuck to the rock. I was pretty excited and so were my wife and kids. I know they probably will not survive unless I take them out and get them into another quarantine tank. That's not possilble due to the rock they laid their eggs on. I will be moving the clowns and RBTA's to a 45 gallon cube that I'm working on hopefully in the next two months.

You can see the eggs better with the HD setting

I will post a video of the clowns fighting with my leopard. Poor girl has been banished to the other side of the aquarium. The funny thing is that is the only fish they are harassing.

Very exciting. How old are the clowns and how long have you had them? I have a few clowns that I have been working on for the past 4 months now and I do believe they are of age. They have been cleaning the pots a lot and my perc female has been extremely aggressive. So I hope I will be able to join the club and see some eggs soon.

As far as moving your pair to a new aquarium, this will probably cause your clowns to stop producing eggs for a wile. However I have heard of people moving their clowns to a new tank when the female is gorged with eggs. By doing this she is pretty much forced to lay somewhere in your new tank and will hopefully not hold them up on their later batches.

Congrats on the eggs, that's awesome!

Beautiful clowns, I love the color on the male. Are they wild caught?

Thank you, They are tank raised from ORA I got them from a local dealer back in 8/2011. I have no idea exactly how old they are. They have never seen an anemone until I put them in my tank with my RBTA. My RBTA was not big enough when I put the pair in I guess. It split three times over the past 8 months.

I know have 4 beautiful RBTA's that are getting bigger and bigger. My fear is that they start moving around, I have alot of corals (sps/Lps/softies) that I do not want to get stung. This is why I have been working on my 45 gallon Cube. Luckily they are all on one large rock for now, so moving them will be easy if they stay put until then. The cube will only be for my clowns and BTA's. Maybe one or two other fish  .

I already built the stand and canopy with the help of my dad. He is very good at wood working, me not so much. I will post the entire build with pics when I'm finished. Here is the thread I started when I first got my clowns

And here is my tri color BTA that I already bought from my LFS Epic Reef. He is holding it for me until my 45 gallon cube is ready for livestock :fun4: .
