My plans

It never fails. I swear I am sick of waiting to find a safe way to drill my tank and decide just to whip out the dremel and get started. I go look online to read what people have written who have done it before and chicken out. I can't afford to have someone drill the tank. I can't afford to break the tank I have. :-(

Ok lateral support added to the plan. There is a little bitmap blue print which I have linked to in my updated page.

I have been trying to clean out the tank that is on the ground behind my sea horse tank which had animals in it and currently has some aragonite still in it. I need to clean all of this out and I can not move the tank. Any ideas for ways to vacuum out sand that is in a tank on the floor? I can't get a siphon going any lower.

I can't wait any mor and I am going to pay someone to drill my 40g tank. Someone had said a while ago that Exotic Aquatics would do it. It sounded a little expensive, but it’s worth the price for me to not sit on an empty tank for another year. Does anyone know of a reliable place closer by that could do it for a good price? Someone had mentioned a glass place in Wilmington, though I don’t remember if they were just saying it was a good place to buy acrylic. If I haven’t heard from anyone by tomorrow I think I will make the hour drive into MD and spend the $60-80 to get it done with.

Jon, the glass fabricator in wilmington is probably Kaufman Glass Company. its also where i get acrylic supplies. they cut and grind and bevel and grit blast custom glass and mirrors. so they might drill too. give them a call on monday. I have no idea what they might charge. and I'm sure there is no guarantee on breakage.

hey are you sure the side you want to drill is not tempered?
