I was in my pool with the wife and kid yesterday when we heard a horrible noise. The wall had split open from the filter return down. It pulled the wall out of the cap rail and buckled and kinked it in a few places.
First thing I did was get the kid out, then I started dumping water through the filter, and a 1.5" syphon.
From looking at the damage, I think I can "patch it with a 4' X 8' piece of 26 Ga sheet metal and a ton of pop rivets. Looks like the hardest part is going to be getting the hole for the filter return in the right spot (it's gotta match the hole in the liner). I guess I'll need a special hole saw for metal now......
