My poor lawnmower blenny

My lawnmower blenny looked like he was about to die this weekend. He was sitting on a rock near my powerhead, and his whole body was almost being sucked in by the power head, I had to stick something in the tank and was able to touch him before he moved away from the powerhead.

He was lethargic, breathing very slowly. Gills were fully extended.. I thought by morning Sunday He'd be gone. He wasn't, he was still alive.

He refused to eat flake, won't eat mysis. And so, let him live on what he could find. he wouldn't go after Nori either. However, he's been shrinking in size. Length is about the same, but his mass is looks less. He looks thin.

So, I was mixing up some new brine and mysis together, and decided to add some veggie pellest I've had but no one would eat into the brine / mysis mix. I thought with time in the RO water they would disolve and add nutrients to the shrimp..

So, I fed out of there yesterday including a few of the pellets. Guess what, he ate the pellets whole, I fed him a few, and everyone he darted for. He ate about 5 or 6 of them. I checked the ingredients and the primary ingredient was algae, along with spinach and other human veggies.

He was going nuts for them. I hope I found a food he likes in time for him to go from starvation to thriving.

He constantly picks at my rock work and the glass, but it must not be enough to sustain him.

congrats! glad you found something, sounds like he is going to make it if he was eating well, make sure you post an update in a week or 2! :)
