My puffer!

I've had him for years and all of sudden he had this sore/laceration on his back. A week later his lip is ripped back. Anyone familiar with puffer diseases? I looks like decay!

Do you have any other puffer in the tank. It looks like something bit it off.

Did you notice if it was damaged first and a bacterial infection took over?

I would do a ruby reef rally bath(it contains acriflavine which is an antiseptic) then treat with the trifecta, metroplex, kanaplex, and furan 2.

It looks pretty bad so I would act quickly.

Appreciate the replies guys, but it seems to be healing. I suspect that he got pinched by a crawdad that I feed my eel.

Good to hear! Did you end up treating with antibiotics or did it just start healing?
