My recap of 2008 photo style

great images Ice-
I think the second tree frog and first fern shot are my favorites.

Thanks for posting.

Very nice pics.
Looks like 2008 was very active and productive for you. A small comment meant as a constructive criticisme and in no way bashing the great pics you posted.
You got focusing metering WB quite mastered, however most pics look more like photojournalisme, it's time to start experimenting more with the "artistic" part of photography like using the rule of thirds in your compositions, ginving space to your subjects to move in or out of the frame creating movement in the picture, things that tell a story in the picture, also making more use of shallow deapth of field.
Great work looking forward tot he 2009 series.

I honestly can't choose a picture I don't like. There are quite a few I would love to have framed and on my wall. Great job!

indeed thank you all for your comments. I see what you are saying and I do feel i need to take a more "artistic" approach and diversify my photography. I have the second half of the series that I had trouble uploading of which may perhaps display some of these new angles.

Nice colors on those pictures. What do you use to adjust the colors during PP?

ironically opposed to what was stated earlier I suck at white balance. Usually the only kind of color correction i do is with temperature/hue due to difficult/indoor lighting conditions. And secondly its probably a sin but I use Iphoto to do this (insert> horrific yelling/scolding!). lol but I do intend to acquire aperture/better PP software in the future. I guess thats what a college student like has to work with for the time being. Other than that I have to attribute the great color to the lenses (DA and M series Pentax lenses) and the K10d. Great contrast and color.
