My Ricordia fell!

I bought a frag of ricordia, placed it on a rock and came back to see it had fallen in a very unreachable place in my tank. For me to get to it, I would have tear a few things apart which is to much work. Will it still survive in an area with not much light?

depends,
I've lost more than one thing that way, once a year or so I'll get some mystery surprise in my tank when I see something that I thought was long gone.

It will be fine provided that it has enough flow and lighting, you don't want it to be in the shadows. However, I would definitely go through the hassle in getting it out as chances are the current will drift it into a spot where you'll loose it and it may die, plus you won't even be able to monitor it if you can't see it

I had a blue mushroom get completly buried in a sand storm. Almost a year later I see it somehow dig itself out of the sand is on a rock in the back of my tank. Amazing.

That being said ricordia are a little nicer and pricier I would get it and put it where it needs to go.

Lets just say that a coral did disappear in the shadows without you knowing and it did die. Would it cause ammonia to go up?

It wouldn't really do any significant harm to the tank if it were just a small polyp, if it were bigger however it would. I wouldn't just let it sit behind the tank and possibly die, seems like a big waste to me. Just work on getting it out of there.
