My soft coral dominated tank.

Hi everyone. I'm a reefer located in Singapore, and RC has definately been a big inspiration for me. I surf my local forum and am a moderator there. We hope to achieve RC's standard one day.

Back to the tank. I started out with LPS dominated tank, but grew fonder of softies. Softies are really beautiful and are under appreciated. so i have since converted to softy tank and removed most of my aggressive euphyllid/ cataphyllia LPSes.

For choice of fishes, i'm a wrasse lover so majority of my fishes comprises of fairy wrasses.

Here are some pictures of my old LPS set up.

I really do miss my LPS tank alot, and i really loved it. However, the scaping was not ideal for my fishes and there were too much rocks. I decided to remove and sell all my LPS to make way for softies, and to remove much of the rocks.

This was then the intermediate result. There's a drastic decrease in corals but also, a much needed improvement in swimming space.

And finally this. Pardon the un-opened leather corals. they are shedding.

Some might argue that i have taken a step back and my tank has 'downgraded' from the first Full tank shot, but i like to disagree. i find the reduction in corals and the increase in space more pleasent. Also, i get to keep more fishes. :)

Very nice!!! Looks beautiful!

Excellent fish too! The wrasses are excellent...

I'm in the process of setting up an LPS and softy tank myself, so I'd appreciate it if you'd post your tank details.

I'm using only T5s. 2x white 2x blue. 39W each tube.
eheim 1260 for return
deltec APF600 for skimmer
max temp 28, lowest 26
1 tunze nano wavebox, a tunze 6025, 6045 and 6055. have removed the 6045 as the flow was too much.
to be honest, i don't know the parameters since i hardly test :) but reef standard for sure as per my latest test results almost 3 weeks ago. i doregular water changes once a week. softies are undemanding

Very nice Yikai! A beautiful tank doesn't always have to be full op SPS :) I can imagine it has to look even more beautiful sitting in front of it with all the movement of the corals in the flow.
