My Tang isnt doing so well, thoughts?

My blue tang isn't doing too well, he's been in my nano for awhile now, but suddenly he seems unhappy.
I've tried leaving the tv on for him, while I'm gone, maybe it's not a show he likes?

I also tried enticing him with special treats. Someone suggested shrimp, so I stopped by Capt' D's on my way home and picked him up a little tidbit, but he didn't seem interested.

Does anyone have any advice? He just swims in circles all day!
 
Tangs are schooling fish. They like to be in groups of 6 or more in larger aquariums. Since you have a nano, I would recommend adding 1 (maybe 2 if you have adequate mechanical filtration) more tang to keep him company.

This reminds me of that yellow tang in a 12g nano on YouTube.

This better be a joke. Trolls usualy have a low post count so I am starting to think this dude is serious. Especially with his avtar pic.
 
Would of gotten better results if you would have kept it simple and believeable. Leave it at "my hippo in my aqua pod" instead of adding the TV and Capn D's.
 
Your tang needs a smaller tank, he doesn't feel cozy enough. You can pick up a 5 gallon for pretty cheap. While you're doing that get him a friend! I think a naso would be perfect.

Capt' D's? You can't be serious! Try the spicy chicken strips or hotwings from KFC. My fish like it dipped in the ranch sauce, though sweet and sour may provide more vitamin C.

You need to find out when reruns of Gilligans Island are showing, but a good runner up's the original Star Trek, or in a pinch Golden Girls. Or alternatively you can leave the radio on to catch one of the conservative talk shows.

First of all you got your feeding all wrong. Tangs like Long John Silvers not that Capt'D's crap your feeding him.
Second try leaving the tv on channels he likes not that $hit you like. I recommend StarTrek TNG or DS9(mine loves it), he can dream of a better future much like your tang does.....
And lastely, grow the $uck up troll.....

You must live some kind of sad existence if a little bit of humor gets you so riled up. Relax. Might wanna spend some more time just watching your tank, lower that aggression some.
 
Tangs are like corals, if they out grow your tank, they need to be trimmed, just slightly. Trim a bit of it's fins off and it will be fine.

Hmm...I think ya got me wrong man. My post was all sarcastic, not meant to be taken seriously....like yours. The last line was harsh...sorry.

As long as you have a pyramid skimmer and dechlorinate your tap water well you should be fine. tangs love small enclosed spaces, I have mine in a jar with a yellow tang on the coffee table and he does just fine. the guy at the fish store said he would be okay and I believe him!
 
If your tang is still feeling blue you could try sharing a bubble bath, mine love that!! Make sure to get some nice finding nemo squirt toys.













Not to be a downer but threads like this can really confuse newbies, especially ones with nanos. If you like humor you should check out The Lounge.
