Might be taking it a little fast...

it was the all ohio frag swap! where else can you get a pink milli for cheap?

i had to transfer over from a 55, so i didnt have a choice about putting live stuff in there, and my cheap corals all have great polyp extension and one even has some growth on the base!

4 fish + corals in a 2 week old tank? Who's been giving you advice?
Bad news.
ok i had to transfer over from a 55! and i i had some inpulse buys at the all ohio frag swap. what would yopu have had me do put my fish in a bucket for 2 weeks while the tank cycled! you guys are not offering any constructive criticism, you are just talking down to me like you have never made any mistakes in the hobby yourselves

plus you can see that my experience says 4 yrs! do you think that i just came home from tyhe lfs with a truck load of fish and dumped them in before i even filled the tank with water!

no kidding guys! he said the tank was 2 weeks old, not his experience level. it appears to me that everything's doing okay, and if he had to tear down to upgrade, then what else would you do with the fish/coral?

gibbs - do you buy your water, or do you mix it yourself? that's another good point... if you buy it already mixed, there wouldn't be much to cycle, especially if the live rock was in a previous tank, cycling.

CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, guys. be nice!

who's your LFS, by the way?

how is telling me good luck keeping sps in a 14 day old reef, telling me my corals will surely die, and asking me who gives me advice tring to help kar93? and my lfs is salty critter

A few things;

1 - If you had all this in a 55, had an emergency (55 cracked, etc.) and HAD to get it out quick, used the 55's water & rock, then that's another story and I wouldn't really call your tank 2 weeks old.

2 - If you find a great deal on something, but have a brand new tank that really isn't ready for it, then I would suggest you practice patience, and wait for the next great deal to come along when your tank IS ready.

3 - Just because everything is healthy looking for the pictures, doesn't guarantee you long term success.

I hope it works out for you. I've seen way too many quick setups like this fail miserably. If the contents have just been transferred from another tank, then please excuse my misunderstanding and accept my apology.

just let us know how it goes. i just dont know if it is a good idea to keep so many fish and corals in a tank that is so young. i mean that looks like a small amount of live rock to have had in a 55, and if the 55 was up for 4 years the rock would be completely coated in coralline, not patchy. good luck, let us know.

looks like a good deal at the frag swap---I wish we still had them around here.

If you already know this, then I apologize, but sps corals included should be introduced at the bottom levels of the tank and gradually brought up to the top

once again good looking frags
