i broke my protein skimmer. i have super high nitrates or ntirites i dont knoe and dont really care. im going back to a small tank. if anyone wants just the tank with stand let me know.

it has a broken protein skimmer, uv steralizer. and a backpack overflow. im drunk and ****ed right now. im back to square one and really just want to call it quits....call/text me offers, i might hook u up with some rock. i am keeping my fish. they mean alot to me even with such high whatever, they are surviving so im not giving up on the,. i lost as rusty ange and blue hippo and i cant do water changes ever 5 days in hopes my **** will be magically fixed.

i have better things to worry about than rish right now. i need girls and good grades. and i need to take cate of my puppy.

call me asap.....856 313 6264 i want to sell this quick and painlessly

its 90 gallons with a 20 gallon sump. i know someon smart will be able to fix the sump. i dont want to deal whit this **** right now, and i dont want to loose another fish, so maybe someone can help me

bruce if i could bring my remaining fish up to make sure they dont die i would appreciate it....i really dont even have time to setup my old tank right now.

did i really just get insulted via reef central??

i dont even want to start with how if i really wanted to i could have a beautiful tank just like any of the regulars on this board...i could have it maintained by bruce if i really wanted to. but dont wanna hit that topic.

maybe your statement was to **** me off and stay in the hobby?

there is a good chance i will do that just to prove u wrong. but i will be getting all my fish from bruce because they dont die after 2 days. i have never lost a fish because of bruce.....

did you say that because u really think i cant afford it?

im heavily invested in the stock market man, even after taking a huge hit cause of my age in penalties, i still make out. after the crash, im doing fine.
how many 22 year olds do you know that is buying a townhome this summer, owns 2 cars, a motorcycle, a fish tank, and a dog. and i pay for school. all by myself. my cars are not junk. i have a wrx worth $10,000 and one in nj, and a wrx worth 25,000 stock that is being shipped down when it is finished being build.

maybe u said that to get u and your buddies a good little laugh.

well now that im annoyed, maybe that guy down in pawleys will contact me with a price for that 120.

thanks for the inspiration paul, i know who not to count on when it comes to fish advice.

Why don't you go get a new skimmer? Seems like an easy enough fix and you could do 2 water changes of about 30 % a week a part and be good to go again. Seems like a lot of money to just go down the drain?

i was drunk last night....i was extremely angry, and really was ready to give up, i still might have taken pauls post the wrong way, but now im gonna start again...

but im starting new...im thinking a 120 or a 140 oceanic rr tank. if i start new, then i can pay someone to make me a stand where i can put a huge sump below and have a refugium. i have so much extra rock right now i dont even know what to do with it.

i would turn a 55 gallon into a sump. and then just take my time. i dont even care if there will be no fish for a while. i want a nice looking tank.

i did fix my protein skimmer, but its not gonna replace the blue hippo and rutsy angelfish. who knows, if i get a good offer on the 90 then i will sell it.

This hobby takes tons of time and patience. Its tough at times even for those of us who have been in it for years... You sound extemely busy and torn doing different things. If you dont have the time maybe you should wait untill you do. Time and patience is the only way you will be successful in this hobby.

and thats what i planned, but like i said dont call me out and say i wasent ment for something. i mean did i seriously take his post the wrong way? or was he really being an ***. who knows. i dont want to fight on a website.

i think paul meant that with you in school and chasing girls right now you just dont have the time to put into a tank. i know with all i have going on i dont have the time to take care of my own tank. i keep all my customers tanks looking great but i slack on mine. if you enjoy the hobby and get out of it for now its no big deal. youll be back before you know it. enjoy being young and single when you settle down the hobby will still be here.

ok so i did take it the wrong way then....thank you for clarifying it. like i said i was drunk the other night, drunk again. im sitting watching com lame movie and sitting on my phone. as long as i took it the wrong then then i apoligize for what i said. but if he ment it as an insult then im ****ed again haha

happy valentines day guys.

Don't feel too bad. I bet Paul has crashed a few tanks of his own. My heater just malfunctioned in my seahorse tank and I lost a couple of seahorses that I had for almost 3 years. It happens to all of us. The best thing to do is to fix up your tank so it fits your lifestyle better. There is tons of stuff that you can get that looks amazing but is easier to care for. Bruce was away this weekend but talk to him when he gets back. I do not even run a protein skimmer because my tank is balanced.

i kinda feel like not is the time to swap my clownfish, 2 chromis and hawkfish into my 25 gallon and then i can mess with my 90, or even get like a 120 or 140. i would even consider the 200 marineland, but i bet thats alot of money....

i have too much rock dont really know what to do with it

Can't have too much rock, that should have kept your nitrites in check. Did you put some into your sump? Miracle Mud also works great to keep a tank stable, hard to find around here though. Just move the fish for now and redo your 90 so it's more balanced and less work to maintain. For example Clams are great for filtering just make sure you get fish that wont nip them or put them in your sump.

all you need to do is keep up on water changes with ro/di water of course. its by far the cheapest thing that can be done and if everyone did them as we should all our tanks would be perfect. if you want a larger tank i have a 180 with dual overflows ill let go for $200. tanks in great shape but it does need a new plastic trim as it is cracked.

i just did a 15 gallon water change 2 days ago and a 40 gallon water change today.....the nitrates have not moved....

no bubbles are coming out of my protein skimmer...

i really didnt want to but i guess i will be shopping for a new protein skimmer. i dont want anything to expensive cause i will prob be getting a new tank soon, and i will research protein skimmers then. im guessing im gonna be spending about 300 bucks?

Sean, I have the Vertex IN-100 Protein Skimmer. It was less than 200, and it's freaking awesome.

"These protein skimmers are comparable to Euro-Reef and ASM Skimmers, except they are made from cast acrylic (not extruded acrylic) and they have a bubble-diffuser design for more performance.
The pump is a Resun pump, which is comparable to the GenX pumps. This is the best value in skimmers today."
