hey eric, did the copperband nip at anything else besides the clam? im thinking of getting one got a few aiptasia anenomes getting bigger in my tank.

was the flame angel that nipped.

The copperband got rid of the aptasia and featherdusters. the only problem is that he didn't eat frozen food or pellets so a week after he ate his last feather duster it died.

Its a good fish to have if you could get it to eat frozen food.

You got to take some to the party I mean the meeting lol
Which one, the Jeffery, the furry wall, Mary Jane, adrenaline shot, a black man to chase you, or all? LMAO!

When life slips you a Geoffrey, stroke the furry wall! :)

Pedro--get a peppermint shrimp for aptasia control. I have no aptasia in my tank and the peppermint shrimp devours them. I would not recommend a copperband, their mortality rates are extremely high. These are the type of fish that should be kept in the oceans reefs, not in tanks.

i heard the pepermint shrimp are a 50/50 shot at best for them to eat the aiptasia. but ill try that first and if it doesnt work then ill have nice shrimp anyways. then try a copperband. im wondering if the copperband makes it, will he nip at my other soft corals?

Its more like 72.3:27.7 hit to miss ratio. Just kidding. Its like anything in this hobby that you already know by now, everything is hit and miss: reef safe being a very subjective term or this is great for aptasia/flat worm control.

Yes, copperbands and the genus of fish, butterfly's, can be very aggressive or docile. They can also turn on your corals and inverts. But there is no guarantee either. I would buy a couple of peppermint shrimp first. You also want to get the P-shrimp since aptasia can multiply in the tank rather fast and will sting the living ba-jesus out of your new corals.
