About Me
Well let me start by introducing myself. My name is Tyler Devlin and I am an 18 year old about to attend La Salle University to study marketing. This tank will not be started into progression for at least another 6 years. My idea is to get some insight on the big tanks out there!
My Experience In Hobby
I've been in the hobby almost my whole life. Starting with freshwater then simply moving into saltwater. I started about 7-8 years ago with a 37 gallon reef. Completely knowing simply nothing and wanted to get into the saltwater hobby. But about 5 years ago I made a move to a 90 gallon reef. I got really into the hobby and really got to know my stuff. My 90 has been nothing but a great success for me the past 5 years. I have been in and out of RC and havent been able to catch up on the newer things the hobby is offering. So personally I would say I am not as experinced as I once was. But I am starting my plunge back in!
Dream Tank Plans
This tank I am planning is going to be my dream tank that I always loved and though of having. I am planning on having between a 500-700 gallon tank. Somewhere in that range would be great. I would most likely buy the tank if i could and try to make the stand myself. Here are just a few plans I drew in sketchup to give some ideas. This tank will also be a full reef at least thats what i am planning.
Here is an overall view of a tank I just thought of drawing up. It will most likely be in a basement or i might change my mind to a in the wall tank. But that big white piece behind the tank and stand is the fish room.
Next is the fish room! I saw this on a video where under the stand is empty and under the tank is how i would access the fish room as you can see with the cut outs in the wall. This is just an idea?
These next two pictures are just ideas of an aquascape. I want it to be like a reef so plenty of places for the fish to swim in and out of and under. I thought spacing the rocks out with space in the middle of each othe five sections would give and ideal swimming space for all the fish and ideal space for corals!
I hope you guys enjoy what I have started! I also hope that everyone can help make this goal come true with all the experience flowing around here I think I can do this. Every little thing that is said will be helpful to me. Thank you! :spin3:
