My thoughts on Seattle fish stores

I think you're right Ed on the temperature. I had an airpump running during the move but like an idiot, I forgot to hook up a heater. When we arrived at Kingston, the water felt pretty cold easily 60-50 F

This move has been pretty hellish but even with everything bad that happened, it was still worth it. I am glad to be able to say I live in beautiful Washington now.

The good thing about this is that I get to re-aquascape my tank :)

well I am sure we can find you a few frags to fill it back up. one of these next months is the club frag swap.

get into saltwater city, I think they are the best out of the few reef geared lfses I have been to which included the fish store, saltwater city, blue sierra and this one in south everett that was terrible.

I will agree. I would buy SPS at SWC before the other 2 close ones because of know pests. the only problem is SWC sell the maricultured acro's for $125. that is like 400% markup. why do that when I can get them for 60-80 other places. Regal angel the I was quoted over 200. bought a redsea from Ocean reef for $85. mystery wrasse same deal. helfrichi firefish also the same. i bought all the fish from MArio at Ocean Reef aquatics for the same as 1 at SWC.

im sorry to hear that below sea level is out of business :(. im originally from seattle and that was my main LFS. yea everything is very pricey on the west coast...unless your in so cal. good luck in the north west!

I too was sorry to see it out of business. I recently started my reef in the seattle area, never got to buy anything from Below Sea level :( It was walking distance from where I live as well!

Hey... So I was in Seattle today checking out the city and my tendency to follow good food led me to the International District

Anyway I passed by what I could have sworn were 2 LFS on or near 6th Ave. and S. Jackson St. One of them definitely had a SW display tank I could see as I drove by. Anyone know what stores these are and if they're worth checking out? Didn't really have time to stop to check them out.

D.

I will definitely get into SWC as soon as I can! I am out of town until tomorrow, and then I am headed out immediately again for another week. Hopefully when I get back, I will have more time.

King's Discus is down in the International District. They used to have SW, but the last time I was in there, it was strictly FW. There's also another store in one of the alleys a couple blocks west of King's Discus. I can't remember exactly what it's called, but it is a FUNKY store! It's all FW, but definitely worth a visit if you're in the area....

Thanks :) I've had a 20 gallon low light, low maintenance system running since last fall. I really don't do much with it other than enjoy it, which is nice for a change :) How've you been?

Good, Scott micheal is coming to BCC in two saturdays. Should be a really good speaker. I have had tons of ups and downs with my tank but that is always the constant struggle.
