My tiny upgrade Oceanic 215

Hello Everyone,

So after searching for the best custom tank for 6 months i finally gave up and purchased a oceanic 215 RR tank (72X24X30). My first tank choice was a custom acrylic 8'x2'X2' but it just got way too costly and i just love the starphire front of the oceanic tank so thats what i ended up with. My tank has been sitting in our basement living room for a week now as i am trying to collect the proper equipment.

Here are a few things that are already owned, on their way or I am thinking about getting: Feel free to let me know if i should change any of the equipment.

Tunze 6055 X 2
Tunze 7095 Controller
Tunze Wavebox
2 more water pumps, still undecided on which one
ATO system
Mag Pump 1800GPH
Nautilus stand pipes X 2
55g Sump
WM AS200 skimmer
160# special select sand
60# Fiji Pink
250# live rock

Lighting: (something i still can not decide on NEED INPUT PLZ)
Right now i am leaning towards ATI 36" 6x39" Powermodule T5 High Output Fixture X 2

Please share any opinion regarding my setup, its a large setup and i dont wanna screw up :p

I will post updates and pics as build goes.

Thanks for viewing!

Hey man, great choice of tank. I have the same one I am setting up currently.
For lighting I choose the Current USA Outer Orbit 3x250W MH and 8x36W t5's from petmountain.com. Ill most likely be going full SPS, so the 250's are my choice for the 30" depth penetration. I was concerned with the T5s not having enough 'punch' as everyone says to reach the bottom.
Project is currently on hold as I wait for my tile guy to come in and level my concrete slab and lay down my tile. (Mud floor to level)

Also I am putting the outer orbit into a perfecto prestige black canopy. I have cut vent holes in the side and will install rear fans to alleviate heat issues. I think it will leave a very nice finished look to the tank, look into it.

hey man sexy looking tank , but just to let you know and make you happier your tank is 225 gal :smokin:

thanks for letting me know, keep me updated on your build! As for lighting i still prefer T5s. I dont really have a solid reason but small part is to keep the power down. And yes i am worry about the t5s not having enough punch thats why i cant pull the trigger to buy lighting.

The tank says 215, i probably got the measurement wrong. but either way im happy! :D

I'm putting the same tank together. I went with 400 watt radiums, galaxy ballasts and Lumenarc III reflectors.

Not to rain on anyones parade but the Oceanic 215 Reef Ready are actually like 190 gallons of internal volume. Measuring the inner dimensions and the height up to the overflow plus 1" gives you 190-195 gallons per RC's gallon calculator.

Hey Fishy I'm workin on the same size tank. I like you really wanted larger but I just could'nt find what I was looking for at the price I wanted to pay....AH life is full of compromise!
