My Tunze broke?

Hey Roger and Tunze,

My 6045 broke its holder when I went to pull it for its first cleaning after 4 months. What should I do? Glue it, or will you send me a new part? Also is it normal for there to be rust at the base of the shaft and impeller? There is rust on both 6045, one has a round cord and the other has a rectangle power cord. Other than that I really like these and the nice azz flow they give. Here is a pic that should explain it all.

Thnx,

Upon cleaning the other tunze 6045, I noticed the mount is cracked on that one too but not all the way through. This makes two. What kind of plastic is this? Seems very brittle. I was sure the mounting tabs were to break first, but not the "wings". When I remove them from the holder should I pull them straight out or slide them up or down? I am very gentle with them and rarely move them in the first place. I dont manhandle them like a tuff guy or anything. A little super glue gel holding for now.

Thnx,
Josh

Hi Josh,

Sorry to see the broken C bracket this is a warranty issue please PM Roger if you purchased in the US or if elsewhere contact your local agent at www.tunze.com please include receipt if available.

Regards
Graeme

The plastic is GE Lexan, it should be about the strongest you can get we are changing this part as the Lexan seems to get scorched in the molding machine due it's thinness. Send me a PM and we will get you taken care of ASAP.

Thanks Roger and Aqua depot for the reply. I sent you a PM Roger. GE Lexan is pretty strong stuff. Are you changing the material it is made of or the overall design of the bracket? As for the rust at the base of the shaft on both, I am concerned about this also.
