My two year old sebae anemone discharging a white cloud

After a small kalkwasser discharge accident tonite, I noticed my reef tank looking very cloudy. After several minutes, I could see that my sebae anemone was spewing out lots of white cloud. I have just installed a new(used) remora skimmer tonite and added some fresh seawater. Last week, I had an 8 hour emergency power outtage which stopped the pumps( no circulation) and caused the temperature to drop to 73 for several hours. Today's temps were 77-80. What should I do?

I'm going to let my remora run for a day. If tomorrow evening it still looks cloudy, I will change out several gallons of water.

I wasn't sure if it was eggs or sperm discharged but after reading and viewing some pictures online, it looks to be a sperm discharge. That anemone sure put out quite a quantity of sperm!
The anemone's tentacles appear deflated and overall size diminished. It had eated a small shrimp tonite as well( I rarely feed it- don't want it to get too large since I have corals).

Many simple organisms will attempt to reproduce sexually during times of environmental stress. Sounds like you stressed yours a bit.:)

Take some pictures of the anemone for me, specifically the mouth.

I'm curious to see what a known male looks like.

known males tend to have chest hair and pass noxious gasses

Sorry about not having pics. My wife witnessed the event- it looked like a mini Mt. St. Helens volcano. After about a day of running the skimmer, the water clarity cleared and my sebae anemone went back to looking pretty normal. My new remora skimmer seems to be pulling up a fair amount of skimmate. Now, I hope my sps corals will be doing better. I didn't even move out any water- just added a few gallons of freash seawater and it seemed to alleviate the situation. Maybe the lesson to be learned is not to panick when your anemone does something like this.
