My Typhoon hang on skimmer

I bought this skimmer about 3 months ago, trying to save a buck or 2. Is it a good one? can I improve it. I heard with the 'CYCLONE skimmer there is a way of moderfying it. How about the Typhoon? It works, the ammonia is down or none, but is there a way of improving proformance?

I own one and very happy with it. The only thing that I have done to it is to add a air pump to the air line this in my opinion improved the skimate. There is also a thread in the lighting and filtration forum.
