My wife is going to kill me

About 3 weeks ago I took down my 20g frag tank. It was looking bad and I didnt have time to mess with it. I took all the rock rubble out and put it in a 5 gallon bucket with some water in it. About 15 lbs of rock some with softies on it. Anthelia, zoas and some shrooms. I know there was a ton of those little snails that breed like crazy and probaly a couple of hermits. I put it all in the bucket filled it half full of water and put a lid on it. Well problem is I forgot about it. So now I have a half full bucket of something. I traded for a euroreef skimmer today so when I got home I decided to see what it could do. I made about 3-4 gallons of saltwater probaly at a low salinity and poured that in a rubermaid conainer. I put in the skimmer and turned it on. I filled up and started skimming. Nothing to blow you away but it was clean water. Then I took off the lid of the bucket and about passed out. This was the worst smelling stuff in the world. Brown water with all kind of floating things. I poured it into the container after skimming the floaty things with a net. Now my house smeels horrible The skimmer is skimming like crazy. I probaly should have done this outside. My wife thankfully has a meeting tonight and wont get home untill around 7.
Sorry for the long post but if you dont every hear from me again you know why

Well, the good thing is I know the skimmer works. I have probaly 5 total gallons of water in the tub and I have over a inch of thick skimmate in the cup at 3 hours. The cup is probaly 6in around.

:lol2: I like this guy, Not to bright though! See I'd and do, take the beating that my wife dishes out. I don't try to cover anything up, she's gonna yell @ me no matter what so I might as well give her a real reason. This doesn't work with my wife....ever....But just tell her some big off the wall lie that couldn't be true if you wanted it to be like for example: I was sitting in the living room and heard a thud, I looked out side and an Airplane had dumped it's waste right here in our yard by the window!! I try'd to clean it up the best I could but it still stinks in that room!! When she try's to question you just act stupid, like kids do.......I don't know.

I would just say...... What smell? I don't smell anything, and then wait 15sec's and say yuck what did you do?

Or

I would make up a huge thing worse than it is.. Like OMG you are not going to believe this.. The sewer backed up all over your clothes that were in the laundry room, and I had to pitch them all. Then we she starts getting mad you can say no... Just kidding I took the lid off a bucket that had dead fish stuff in it.

Well the house is ok now. After 3 hours of everything outside I brought it in. No smell from it now. I assume that all life is gone in it.

nice got to love that. you ever get those bits? i was looking forward to breaking that new tank (or watching you break it and giving bad advice) let me know and we will get that big dog going.
