I currently have a 125g mixed reef. this year i asked santa for several upgrades for my system. i hope to upgrade the plumbing, lighting, skimmer, and water movement........
so heres a list of what equipment that will be upgraded from what i have to what i want....
HAVE:
3x 250w 14K mogul socket
4x 72" VHO actinics
ETSS reef devil skimmer
2x old style koralia 4s
2x 1" drains used with a PVC elbow and screen
both drains, drain right into the skimmer part in the sump
WANT:
3x 250w 10K double ended (want the double ended cuz i have cheap and horrible DIY reflectors for the mogul sockets, with the double ended i will get much much more light sent into the tank)
4x 72" VHO actinics (2x actinic 03, 2x 454 actinic)
Octo extreme 200 w/ red devil pinwheel upgrade
2x koralia mag8s controlled by koralia wavemaker
2x gl*******s overflow boxes
redo the plumbing on the drains to drain into a filter sock in the skimmer compartment of the sump
add a bubble trap near the return pump inside the sump
so with all of those upgrades, im sure my tank will be able to thrive even more than wut it is now, and i shud be able to handle a bigger bioload with the addition of the skimmer. to my understanding the octo extrme 200 with the red devil pinwheel on a 125g tank, i shud be able to have a decent bioload. ya never know eventually i may upgrade the pump to a bubble blaster3000. and the upgrade of the koralias to the mag8 pumps, means i can keep anything and everything since my lights are more than enuff for a 125. im glad that my tank will have overrated equipment on every major facet of the hobby. any suggestions or comments are welcomed, thanx for reading my wish list to santa......!!!!!!!!!!
