my yellow tang has white spots on it help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

do not put any live rock in the qt tank just put some kind of decoration a fish can hide behind. also i feed my fish with garlic that helps boost there immune system. i had what looked to be inch over a year a ago one just one fish and the fish fought it off. i caught it early and only on one fish at the time. never seen if since.

jeff from aqua world said put 2 small pieces in so they can hide and dose normaly the copper i did a huge 30 gallon water change on the main tank to try to get rid of some of the phospates so will see how that goes go the tang and blennny in the quritine tank now

from what i was told the liver rock acts as a filter and removes alot of the medicine and if you put in live rock you can't put it back in your display

i used ugly pieces of base rock just to give the fish something to feel more comfterable and not to stressed and buck i didnt not use ro water i didnt have the funds this time out to pic up 30 gallons worth i had juste enonogh for the salt and medicen i didnt get paid this week ( what little i do ) but im looking into geting a uv steralizer jeff said this would help and probly would kill almost all the algea so does anyone know of anyone that is selling a uv unit

Did you set up your entire system without RO water? If you did use RO water when you set it up, and for your water changes, where did you get it from? I'm thinking tap water is probably not going to help you with your algae bloom...

Good luck, hopefully you don't lose anything. Once you get everything back in running order, you really should slow down with doing so much in such a short time.

ya i think i learned my leason i never yoused ro water no one warned me this could happend or i woulda used it everytime i feel so dumb

Buy a RO unit, you dont need a UV.

You need to limit PO4 in your tank. RO/DI does this. A water change may help alittle but your tap water still has PO4, so you will never get it down to where it needs to be.

I run a huge RO/DI and a GFO reactor and PO4 for me is .012 via Hanna.

You can get some good water at Walmart too.

Rock will cause the copper to become less concentrated. I don't know if it is because it absorbs or what? But with rock you need more copper than the dosage over time. Copper is very toxic though so don't just arbitrarily add more without a good copper testkit. Just stick with plastic decoration and a sponge filter.

Agreed. PVC is cheaper than live rock, and would be suitable for hiding spots anyway. Under no circumstances should you put that rock back in your system for several years, and that's only if its being cured the whole time. A UV MIGHT help a little with the problems, but not enough to make it worth buying one. Get an RO or RO/DI unit first.

looks like thats what ima have to do go buy a ro/di unit or go buy ro water from somewere in the mean time does anyone know anywere in the city that is cheap and how much it is out walmart buck ill be out century three way today and i might stop out there at like midnight
