Hello, I will update this thread from time to time.

really terrific photos!
just a question though, some of the best photos i see of coral seem to be similar to yours in that they have a black backround. is there something i can do to replicate this?

Well, I`m using Nikon D90 DSLR camera with M42 adapter, 2-3 macro rings and old but among the best, Helios 44-2.
Manual settings, manual focus, steady hand (or tripod if you prefer).
Tip for black background, it is the matter of focal length, if you use 2, as a setting on your optics, it will focus very small area in center of eye view. If you use 8 like I used in my photos, area is wider but than you have to set exposition to 1/8 or even 1/5 because of the light. These photos ARE NOT modified!
Everything is done with bare hand. Another tip for this, use aquarium glass for steady shot, lean optics on it. Macro rings are dependable on how subject is far from the glass.
If you need more tips I would be glad to spare with you.
I can`t imagine what will be output if I have better optics.... :D

i'm new to using a digital slr but have a decent maco lens and tri-pod so we'll see if i can't get a few nice shots with your great advice :)

Well, it was combination of LED and Neon light.
Now I have 52 pcs LED on controler:
18pcs of 450-460 nm
18pcs of 18000-20000k
12pcs of 420-430 nm
02pcs of 500-520 nm
02pcs of 620-650 nm

And at the end of month I will purcahse 2x 39W neon, probably Coral+ and Blue+ from ATI.
