My120G Oceanic Tech Series Build

well I am home, but it appears it was signature required, and with nobody home, they left the note on the door. So I called UPS, and I will have to pick it up tomorrow @ the UPS facility

Will you be able to sleep tonight?
I'm sure it was insured, hence the signature requirement. U.P.S. only insures packages up to $ 100.00 free.

Larry, I recall that you had to remove the top of your stand.....was this fairly easy to do? I see the top is fastened with two screws at each corner. A phillips and an allen type screw.

Thanks,

Joe

it was two or three in each corner. they were phillips, and it only took about 10 min to do. It wasn't that bad at all.

I'm looking into a starphire Oceanic tank and got a call back, from Oceanic about a week ago. They told me that a 178RR (60.5 x 24.5 x 29) is available for around $950 and a 215RR (72.5 x 24.5 x 29) for $1200. This is tank only!

I'm pretty sure this was the tech series. If not, I'm sure it had at least starphire for the front viewing panel, not sure about the sides. I'll try contact them again and verify this info., but I got it directly from Oceanic. They couldn't give me exact prices, but that was the info. I received.

That was probably the case. My tank setup won't have side viewing, so that model will work for me. Thank you for the info Darth!

It sounds like the Tech series has starphire glass on 3 sides, but the largest tank is a 120. The Ultimate series has starphire on the front panel only, but has larger tank sizes of 178 and 215. I'm sure there are more tanks sizes and differences, but this is what I've gathered so far.

the way to tell is the euro bracing I believe. Plus the tech series have painted back's as well. They should be able to tell you which one it was.

Larry,

All Glass modern black stand.

Have yet to get a picture with the Solaris, still playing around with my new toy.

BTW,

I am dealing with cloudy water which is partly due to micro bubbles as I am breaking in my new skimmer and a minor air leak on my pump connection. A little silicon on the pump connection will fix this right up.

I also noticed while starting up my ro/di system that my di filter is tan and out of gas already :-( Only ~180gallons of water and I need to replace it? I have a TDS reading of 1 on the output of the DI side and a 4 on the input.

Seems a little quick, but I will check in with the filter guys to see if something is wrong???

My concern is that I was checking TDS readings while making water, but now wonder if my cloudy water is due to my out of gas di filter... I hate to change all the water, so I may end up getting my LR and having to deal with bigger water changes over the course of my tanks cycle.
