myagi tort went white

You don't have to test daily, just especially if there is a problem, and on a regular basis to make sure what you are dosing is keeping within proper parameters. If a new coral that enters a system RTN's it could be that your other corals are just used to the wrong parameters, but the new one could'nt handle it. Purely conjecture there though. Temp should never vary day to night more than 1 degree. You do have a heater correct?

yes, i have a 300W titanium heater, i will take another look at that and maybe turn it up a little. I have seen people claiming their tanks only vary 1 degree, but found different at their house, including one that is posted on their website.

I test my water once a month. But it has been pretty stable plus I use a calcium reactor. I can usually tell if something is off and then I'll test. Chances are my alk will drop some and I just adjust my reactor some.

Just tested the alk (4drops for color change) 2meq/L
looks like i need to add some alk!

accordint to Randy's chart;
the calcium is a little high
phosphates need to come down
alk low
ph pretty good
need mag test kit, and ammonia kit too, can't find mine. I will need it for the new tank anyway.

can i store the old water for the new tank in a container without any heater or pump? I figure this would help get the 180 going and still keep building up water!
