Mysis shrimp question.

Sooo I feel dumb...accidentally left my frozen shrimp food out for about 8 hrs...think its still good to use? Its the frozen mysis shrimp that comes in cubes

I'd still use it. It's just fish food.

Just as an example, I've purchased foods such as mysis, beefheart, Marine Cuisine etc on some of the hottest days here in California. By the time I got home from the LFS, the foods were nothing but hot mush. After a few hours in the freezer they were as good as new. I had no problems at all feeding both my freshwater & saltwater fish these foods.

If left out too long it could go bad, but that would have to be a long time. Sure, there can be bacteria growing on it, but Re-freezing it should kill anything harmful.

Feed lightly and see if your fish won't eat it. The CUC certainly will.... that's kind of their forte.

4 hours is considered the longest time food is safe to be used when out of temperature range.

That being said, bacterial growth is exponential and 4 hours beyond that initial 4 is a massive amount of bacteria being added. I definitely wouldn't use it.
