does anybody culture mysis shrimp?

if so, any difference from raising bbs?

any other pod or pod-types being cultured?
(besides rots and bbs)

thanks!

Yes and it is totally different then culturing baby brine shrimp. Mysid shrimp eat baby brine shrimp. Normally, people have a "brood" tank and culture tanks. When "baby" mysis are born they have to be removed from the "brood" tank and put into one of the culture tanks so the adult mysis don't eat them.

mine just breed in the fuge/sump and the babies survive - well at least some do. I don't feed them anything special, they get what the tank gets and I don't remove them.

its a real pia. you would need alot of tanks to seperate adults, juvies, and larve. Try culturing some copepods. Just take a small few gallon tank of some sort and add some water from a waterchange. seive the rest of the waterchange water through a brine shrimp net and you will catch alot of pods that way. then take a cup of clean saltwater and shake the net into the glass. it will be teeming with copepods. dump the glass into the culture, throw in a few sponges and a clump of cheato and set in the window. i saw a population explosion after i started feeding a little nanno algae paste. hth
