my reef is now 9 years old well established and healthy, or until 8 months ago. I moved the fish tank from a friends house that had it while i lived out of state. he neglected it pretty good (or bad) but did not add nothing but water to the tank then his heat got shut off in feburary =dead fish. I re took possion of tank and got all params in order then added fish, yellow tang, two saddel back clowns, and five chromis and all was good for two mnths until the tang got stuck to the power head and got his eye sucked outa his head and died.
Then the mayham started one day later the clowns got ich then the chromis and day two after I noticed spots I treated the tank with organic fish dieses treatment and lowerd salinty. To no avail they all died. but I still countied the hypo salinty for two weeks and left the tank fishless cept the one chromie that lived through it (named him hammer cause he is too legit to quit!). two months later I started to add fish again this time useing a qt system regel tang, clowns, cardnils, and randels goby. First the goby dissapered probly jumped, then the regal disapered then two cardnils gone with out a trace, then finally my male clown I saw him though no spots but gills out and breathing heavy next to a rock. I have no predotors, or cats, my params are perfect across the board no meatls test I figured if the corals took a dump that would be a good sign of metal.
What is killing my fish? I kinda think ich but I have gone through such pains to irradicate it and my other fish are fine clown, hammer, and cardnil what is it !!!!!!!!!!!?
