Mysterious Starfish Murder

Hi guys,

This morning I woke up to find one of my two sifter starts dead...seemingly murdered by another tank mate. I doubt he died of natural causes as he was basically cut in half...and one arm was completely detached. Any ideas of who the culprit might have been? I have a couple hermits, an emerald crab and a snowflake eel (a baby so I doubt he could have done it) which are the only things I can think of that might have been able to kill the starfish. What do you guys think?

Sometimes things die then the hermits tear them up after they are dead

Ya, wondering what might have caused it to die if indeed it did get ripped up after it died....Goss, how can I be sure if it's dead or alive....it looks pretty mangled
