Mystery coral

Picked this up about a month ago and no one has been able to tell me what it is. I posted about a week ago in the ID thread to no avail. Hopefully I can get sine answers here. It hasn't grown, I've seen no polyp extension, no color variations, and no interest in hard foods. My parameters are good for soft corals and easy hard corals. My zoas are thriving as well as my xenia and GSP. So as far as I know, there is no reason to not see some sort of extension from this one. I got it for $20 at my lfs, she said it was rare and sells for about $40 per inch elsewhere (getting in good with the owner is worth it )

Looks like sympodium to me. They can be moody, but once it opens it will look great.

Interesting, have yet to get it to open. Any recommendations on how to get it to open?

In my experience its a crap shoot. The first one I had melted then a buddy gave me another piece and it grows so fast it's almost a weed. Nothing had changed in the tank either. Hopefully someone else has better advice for you.

I just read up a bit, it's definitely sympodium, and seems to be melt, or thrive. Unfortunately I'm directly in the middle, no change whatsoever since I got it. And seeing as it's a fairly new discovery there is very little information on it. I'm very excited to have it in my tank though!
