Well i posted this in the fish only/aggressive forum but here you go.....
Here's the deal you guys, in the past couple months i have had a couple fish die and i am wondering why? the current residents of the tank are doing great and are having no problems. They are a porc puffer (4-5") and a SFE (16"). They show no problems and are doing great, and always have been. In the past i had a volitans lion and a niger trigger in the tank ( the niger was a very good citizen, really laid back) and all was well for a very long time until the trigger died of what seemed to be hunger since his teeth started growing to the point he stopped eating. when i took him out i noticed he had a red sppot on his side, i didn't worry too much. well then about a week later the lion strted to have some pretty big holes and tears in his fins and what looked like a stringy cotton like fungus. he died later that night. i waited months and when i finally got the courage to try again i got a yellow eyed kole tang (might have seen the thread on him)....he got the same stringy thing on him. died a couple days later. i did many water changes with distilled water. checked the residents (porc and SFE) and they looked all right. so yet again i tried one more time and i got a DF puffer. they got along great, no problems and he was eating. a couple days later same thing but this looked pretty bad. more huge water changes (think i changed all the water in there by now) and FW dipped him and put in a hospital tank.....he died too. So i am stumped and i think i am going to give up on this tank for a while. i was going to upgrade to a 180 anyways...... HELP PLEASE!!!
I believe it is brooklynella.......any suggestions?????
