Mystery predator going after my SPS

I have some non-agressive fish in my tank (clownfish and blenny), I just bought my first SPS coral and it has done fine for the last 3 days. This morning I got up and it had dissapeared. After searching through all my live rock, I finally found it on the bottom of the tank half-eaten. I have witnessed the blenny nipping at new corals when I first put them in the tank, but I didn't think that he would actually eat an SPS. Anyone have any opinions on my mystery snacker? Thanks.

It could have been. Thinking about it, if the blenny knocked it out off of it's base on to the gravel then the crabs could have started eating it. Is it common for a blenny to irritate new additions in the tank? I thought they were pretty peaceful.

If it was a bi color blenny it isn't a mystery to me . When I added a bi color to my tank, it ate or nipped at my SPS before I snatched him out of the tank. Everything recovered fine once he was gone. On the bright side it didn't take long to catch him as I just reached in the tank and took out the rock that he hides in and let him out into my soft coral tank. He was no problem there. :D Michael R
