A few days ago I scored a beautiful, healthy established mystery wrasse from a local reefer. He's in there with a chromis and two clowns. 42 gallon tank.
He's doing well, very active and doesn't appear stressed at all. I feed NLS pellets - and since this tank is at my office, I'd like to try to feed only pellets. (Easier for others to feed when I'm on vacation or out of the office, no complaints of smelly frozen food, no weird stuff in office fridge).
His prior owner fed brine and Hikari pellets. The first day he ate quite a few pellets - he actively went after them at the water's surface. Yesterday he didn't really seem interested - he was mostly going messing with his reflection in the glass. This morning he didn't eat any either.
I'm trying to stock only fish that will eat pellets - I'm basically adopting a "eat pellets or else" approach, for the reasons stated above. My research has shown that this forum has dozens of thriving tanks where only NLS is used.
He ate well the first day - any idea why he lost interest? Is it just a matter of time before he gets hungry enough to want to eat again?
